Google loses ground to Bing and Ask in November 2011

The latest UK search engine market share stats for November 2011 have been published by Experian Hitwise.

For the four weeks ending 5th November 2011, Hitwise revealed that Google.com and Google.co.uk achieved a combined total of 90.57 per cent of search volume. This is down slightly on its October 2011 search engine market share, continuing the dip from September. However, since March the search giant has been used for over 90 per cent of UK searches. During this time Google has made an effort to improve the quality of search results for users with the Panda algorithm change, and more recently, a freshness algorithm update.

Microsoft's Bing search engine received 3.85 per cent of search volume, a 0.15 per cent improvement on last month, staying almost consistent since August. Ask has also improved to 1.76 per cent of search volume, showing a slow but steady improvement over the last six months. However, things are looking as grim as ever for Yahoo; the search engine has suffered yet another small drop in search engine market share, taking it to its lowest point since its downward trajectory started in March 2011.

Searches this week

For the week that ended November 5th, Hitwise listed the fastest moving search and social networking terms as 'm5 crash', and 'mariah yeater', who alleges teen heartthrob Justin Bieber fathered her baby. Other trending search terms were Google Easter eggs tilt, askew and do a barrel roll, after the latter was discovered on Thursday.

Twenga is planning EC complaint against Google

French e-commerce website Twenga plans to lodge a complaint against Google with the European Commission for abuse of dominant position, La Tribune reports. Twenga lost 36 percent of its audience between September 2010, when Google brought its Panda algorithm to France, and July 2011, according to ComScore figures. It was also severely affected by the introduction of the Google Shopping price comparison service. Twenga told La Tribune that it was forced to cut 43 jobs out of 130 in France and the UK this summer, then to shut down its office in China. In February 2010, the EC launched an investigation into similar competition concerns at Google following complaints from UK price comparison site Foundem, French legal search engine ejustice.fr and Microsoft's Ciao!

Most Common Myths of Internet(Online) Marketing

Using the Internet for marketing has gathered momentum in the recent years. A business can market its products by advertising online. However, not all products can be marketed effectively on the Internet. There are many myths associated with Internet marketing. These range from the kind of products that can be marketed to the kind of marketing that yields results. It is also believed that high web traffic will ensure a high revenue. This, in turn has made web traffic generation a source of consternation for enterprises, who often forget that generating relevant web traffic is more important than just increasing the number of people visiting the website.

Internet Marketing Myths

The popular myths that surround online marketing of goods and services are as follows:

Affiliate Marketing is Easy and is Always Successful
Affiliate marketing is the process by which a business drives traffic to its website by placing an advertisement in a high traffic website. The website, which acts as the host for the business is compensated by the business in the form of commission. The business provides compensation only for actual conversions. The commission on the actual conversion is known as cost per action or CPA. The reason affiliate marketing has gained importance, is because a business is required to pay only if marketing actually results in driving traffic to its website. It is widely believed that affiliate marketing results in higher revenues, both for the host and the business. However, revenue generation for the business (affiliate) is subject to the following constraints:

The advertisements should be placed on a website that sells products, which are complementary to the products sold by the business. Many times, a business markets its products on sites that sell substitutes or unrelated products. For example, a teddy bear manufacturer who tries marketing his products on a website that provides information about the toy industry might face stiff competition, if the website is already populated with soft toys including teddy bears. Although, the website is relevant to the business, the other products act as substitutes for the teddy bear. It might behoove the teddy bear manufacturer to advertise on a site dedicated to selling gifts for women. A teddy bear is an ideal gift for most women and will complement gift items like: perfumes, jewelry, clothes, chocolates and mementos.

Banner Advertisements: Graphic Links or Text Links?: From the point of view of ensuring visibility of the host, the business (affiliate) should provide text links rather than graphic links. This is because search engines rank text links higher than graphic links. If visibility of the host improves, the affiliate also has a better chance of getting noticed. Despite this, many businessman prefer using graphic links since they feel that effective marketing of their product hinges on visual appeal.

It is Easy to Market Professional Services
Marketing professional services is very different from marketing retail products. Most professionals do not realize the subtle difference between marketing goods and marketing services. In case of a tangible products, the buyer can provide pictures along with a detailed description. However, in case of intangibles like services, communicating the quality and the availability of the service is of utmost importance. The common pitfalls of marketing professional services can be summarized as follows:

Website Lacks Visibility: Most professionals do not spend the time and energy required to improve the visibility of their website.

Lack of Differentiation: Many times, professionals just provide the gist of the services without going into the details of the specialized services provided by them. A professional should try and differentiate himself from other members of his profession by going into the details of the benefits of associating with him.

Lack of Effective Communication: Communication should make an impact on the prospective clients. Professionals might consider providing a video clip that introduces them. This might make the advertisement less impersonal and somewhat endearing. Without effective communication, a professional cannot hope to capture the interest of a possible client.

Direct Marketing via E-mail is Ineffective
According to the research conducted by the Direct Marketing Association, the return on investment in case of E-mail marketing for the year 2009 is expected to be $43.52 for every dollar spent. In fact, in 2007 and 2008, E-mail marketing generated the maximum return on investment, as compared to the other modes of direct marketing. Despite this, most people consider Email advertisements a nuisance, since many times, marketing enthusiasts obtain email IDs of people from various unrelated mailing lists. The point here, is to ensure that the product information is supplied to people who are looking for similar products. For example, if people are looking for laboratories in their area in order to undergo medical tests, it might be advisable to send them information about health care products.

Internet is an effective marketing platform for any business, provided the businessman does his research on online marketing. He should seek professional guidance when necessary, in order to campaign for the success of his business, which in turn can be witnessed in the form of higher revenues and profits.

Marketing Tips on Facebook

Facebook is the biggest and fastest organically growing social network on the Internet. With more than 600 million regular users and counting, it has become the hottest advertising and marketing platform on the web. Facebook is built around the idea of 'Sharing', which makes it easy to spread the word regarding any business, event or brand. Most marketing managers are now realizing the potential of Facebook as a medium to directly reach out to potential customers. In this Buzzle article, I share some Facebook marketing tips and tricks, that will help you in creating an effective advertising strategy on this social networking platform.

Facebook Marketing Tips and Tricks

If you haven't tapped into the marketing potential of Facebook, it's time you did. With more than 600 million users, it's almost a crime if you didn't. Whatever be the nature of your business, devoting time in promoting your business on Facebook is definitely worth it. Here are some tips on how to go about it.

Create a Business Page & Promote Your Brand
One of the first steps to promote your business on Facebook is creating your own business page or 'Fan Page'. Fill in all the information about your business or brand, use the wall to post updates, add photos of your brand and keep your fans updated about new offers and services. Begin popularizing the page by sharing it with people in your own personal profile.

There is a feature called a 'Like' button on Facebook, that automatically shares any link in the news feed of connected friends. It is unarguably the most potent feature of Facebook, that will help your business gain popularity. If and when anybody 'likes' your business page, it will be visible as an update in the news feed of their friends, which is bound to bring in more fans. Voila! Suddenly you have created a fan base in thousands for your business! Check out these tips on how to create a fan page on Facebook.

Reach Out Through Targeted Ads on Facebook
Facebook has its own advertising programs like Google's Adsense, which you can use to display ads on the profile pages of users. You can choose your budget and display a banner ad that can attract traffic towards your website. These ads are placed contextually, according to user interest. That's why, you are bound to get traffic and increased penetration into a targeted customer base, through Facebook ads.

Popularize Events by Leveraging Friend and Fan Connections
Once you have a fan base for your business page, you can conduct contests and events which can be popularized there. Contests and local events sponsored by your brand can be promoted on your fan page, providing increased visibility for your brand.

Add the Facebook Like Button to Your Webpage
If you have a website, one of the best ways of promoting your web page content on Facebook, is adding a Facebook 'Like' button at the bottom of every page. Any user who likes your page, is bound to share it on his Facebook wall, automatically popularizing the page among his connecting friends; driving more traffic towards the page, in the process.

Buy & Sell on Facebook Marketplace
Word is just spreading around about the Facebook Marketplace, which is an e-commerce platform, integrated into Facebook, where you can buy and sell items. Local businesses can effectively use this platform to promote the sale of their products and create one more sales channel for themselves. Check out the Facebook Marketplace to know more about it.

Hope these simple Facebook marketing tips and tricks help you out in widening your customer base and gaining a bigger fan base for your brand or traffic for your website. As I said before, the 'Like' button is the most powerful feature of Facebook, that can create an avalanche effect, that can divert traffic towards any link shared or any brand advertised. Sign up into Facebook, create your business fan page today and consistently update it to reach out to potential customers!

Google+ challenges Facebook in social network battle

Online search giant Google has launched a new social networking website in its latest attempt to take on Facebook, which now claims more than 500m users.

Google+ allows individuals to share photos, messages and comments but also integrates the company's maps and images into the service.

It also aims to help users easily organise contacts within groups.

But some analysts say Google has simply reproduced features of Facebook while adding a video chat function.

Google, which handles roughly two out of every three internet searches in the US, has taken several stabs at Facebook in recent years.

But its previous efforts ended in failure, with both Google Wave and Google Buzz proving unpopular with users.
New functions

The company is now boasting that four features in Google+ could help make the company a permanent player in social networking:

“Google is playing it canny by only releasing the product via invite to a limited set of users before being gradually opened up to the general public”

    * Circles - a functionality that allows individuals to place friends into groups, allowing users to share different forms of content with targeted clusters of friends
    * Hangouts - live multi-user video conferencing that permits friends to drop in and out of live group conversations
    * Huddle - group instant messaging
    * Sparks - a feature that connects individuals on the network to others with common interests.

The current version of Google+ has only been released to a small number of users, but the company has said it soon hopes to make the social network available to the millions of individuals that use its services each day.

"Online sharing needs a serious re-think, so it's time we got started," Vic Gundotra, senior vice president of engineering at Google, said in a press release.

"Other social networking tools make selective sharing within small groups difficult," she added, taking what appears to be a jab at Facebook's recent grouping function.

But some analysts have said Google could have a difficult time converting Facebook devotees to their new social network.

"People have their social circles on Facebook - asking them to create another social circle is challenging," Debra Aho Williamson, principal analyst with research firm eMarketer, told the Associated Press news agency.

"The whole idea of a Google social network... they've been throwing stuff against the wall for several years and so forth nothing has stuck," she added.

In April, Google reached an out-of-court settlement with a US policy group over its rollout out Google Buzz, a previous social effort.

The legal action claimed Google deceived users and violated its own privacy policy by automatically enrolling all Gmail users in its Buzz social network without seeking prior permission.

Seo Services India: Page Impression Fraud

Impression fraud is a special case of click fraud. The prototypical impression fraudster is the competitor who resorts to unfair means to gain an advantage. His primary motivation is to reduce the ranking of his competitor, and then save himself money by inserting his own ad at a lower rate. Another possible motivation may be a hit-and-run operation(random act of violence). Given the potentially devastating consequences it could have on a person's web site return on marketing investment, it could even be a disgruntled employee.

To illustrate the mechanics and motivation of Let's call this individual Grinch. Assume that Cindy Lou(our protagonist) has an advertisement for Christmas trees running on google ad words. Cindy Lou's Pay Per Clickadvertisement has been doing rather well, getting a lot of click throughs. She doesn't have to bid a whole bunch to rank high on the sponsored links because the position is a function of bid price and Click Through Ratio. She is getting decent traffic through her PPC campaign. The traffic is very focused, a large number of visitors end up converting. The trees are moving off the lot and things are shaping up rather fine. Grinch too has an advertisement running. Unfortunately (for Grinch), his advertisement is not getting a lot of clicks. In fact, his CTR is so dismal that he has to pay ever increasing sums just to keep it displayed. His ROI is not that great given his higher cost base for the PPC bid. He does not like the fact that Cindy's campaign is doing rather well. Not one bit! So he does something devious.

Grinch toggles off his own PPC ads and then does a lot of searches for keywords appropriate to Christmas trees. He searches on google, and asks his friends to search too. Only he never clicks on Cindy Lou's ad. He runs his campaign for a few days, and Cindy sees her CTR go down and she is at the bottom of the heap. It's now down to a level where Grinch sees a level playing field and steps in toggling his PPC ad back on. Grinch is suddenly back in business, while Cindy has to keep up somehow. Remember, it's almost November and she has to sell off her trees rather soon. Anecdotal evidence suggests that the loss from this activity may well run into thousands of dollars for larger advertisers(maybe when Cindy Lou Trees Inc. goes nationwide).

For impression fraud to be effective it has to happen at relatively high volumes(usually accompanied by a “traffic spike”). The result will be lots and lots of impressions and a very low CTR. Also if its done for competitive reason, Grinch may identify himself (if you are really keeping tabs on things) because he has to switch his ads on and off. Reporting it to Google immediately will help but will not get you any compensation. Google will still charge you more money for ad placement in a certain position.

The impression fraud attack is extremely insidious, because even though the consequences can severely affect the return on investment ( ROI), Google's policies don't allow refunds to take place. The take home point is that you have to keep tabs on the traffic, including traffic that is not getting to your site. If you are using a web metrics product, ask your vendor if they have the ability to upload your Ad words data into your web metrics account. You have to reconcile the data from what your historical CTR has been to your current CTR, and your costs. It will help to level the playing field, calculate your effective ROI, and may even allow you to look at alternate plans that are now available from Yahoo, MSN and Ask Jeeves.

Seo India: How to Rank in Ask.com?

Some of you may have noticed the traffic coming in to your site from ask.com. Although the traffic is “just a trickle” compared to traffic from Google, Yahoo, and MSN, it is extensive compared to other search properties.

In this post, we’re going to talk about why it’s important to pay attention to and begin optimizing for Ask.com We will give you some information about how their algorithm works and tell how you to do SERP research to improve your rankings.

First of all, it is important to know that Ask Jeeves was recently purchased by Barry Diller’s InterActiveCorp, making them “players” and giving them more funding and a wider reach than they’ve had before. IAC has plans for Ask.com:

Ask Jeeves is one of four world-class search technology providers, with approximately 42 million U.S. unique monthly users, and is one of the largest generators of online advertising in the world. Barry Diller, Chairman and CEO of IAC, said, “Ask Jeeves was founded almost ten years ago based on the idea that simple text search results alone are not sufficient or satisfying - but, rather, that consumers want answers to questions - and questions posed in natural language and answered with spot-on accuracy were especially desired and appealing. Of the many search engines launched during that time, Ask was one of the very few that established itself … and we believe that in the future it has the potential to become one of the great brands on the Internet and beyond, and by beyond we mean in wireless, in the search for anything on any device. It is that belief, powered by IAC’s wealth of resources and thriving businesses, together with the continuing strong management of Steve Berkowitz and his team, that is the impetus for this transaction.”

http://www.irconnect.com/askj/pages/news_releases.html?d=74889

Additionally, although Ask only has a small share of search traffic, it is enough to warrant some attention:

http://searchenginewatch.com/reports/article.php/2156451

Including Ask owned properties Iwon and MyWay, Ask represents 5.3% of searches, just behind AOL. This could result in decent traffic, especially if you are already well established in Google, Yahoo and MSN and are looking for additionally sources of relevant visitors. Also, if you offer a niche product or have a very large website, Ask can result in more traffic to your site.

How does Ask.com rank websites?

First, we have to establish that Ask.com uses technology that they purchased from Teoma. Teoma’s claim is that although it scans only a fraction of the content covered by major engines like Google, it produces well ordered and relevant search results by initially eliminating all the irrelevant sites and then considering the popularity of only those that relate to the search subject in the first place. It also provides other ways to sort through thousands or millions of search results by allowing users to refine or expand their search. Teoma was created initially from research derived from Jon Kleinberg’s HITS.
The HITS algorithm focuses on identifying communities, and and authorities within those communities. You can read our review of HITS here: Hubs and Authorities.

Based on this model, Teoma works by responding to a query. In real time, they match the query with relevant pages by using Term Vector analysis (matching the query with words on the page). Then, they expand the set of sites by including sites that link to or from the initial set of about 200 sites. Subsequently, they analyze the linkage structure and determine which sites are hubs and authorities. They determine this by checking the total number of outbound and inbound links – if a site has many outbound links to sites that have many inbound links, it’s considered a hub. If a site has many inbound links from sites that have many outbound links, it is considered an authority. Results are then re-ranked to include these calculations.

Also, Teoma owns the patent for DirectHit, so they also include clickthrough counts in their algorithm.

They also may be using many other modifiers to their core algorithm. The best way to understand the rankings is to analyze the SERP’s for various keywords, particularly your own keyword sector.

Getting listed in Ask.com

There is no way to submit to Ask.com They discontinued their Site Submit program, so there is no way to pay for inclusion and there is no free “add url” form.

The only way to get listed is to get Teoma’s spider to find your site by following links from other sites. After you get links from other sites, you can watch your server logs to see if the spider is visiting your site and grabbing your pages.

Matt Cutts Review :In The Plex

Steven Levy just wrote a new book about Google called In the Plex: How Google Thinks, Works, and Shapes Our Lives. It succeeds the most on the “how Google thinks” part–if you want to understand how Google thinks, get an overview of Google, or understand its impact on the world, this is the book for you.

I think anyone interested in Google would enjoy this book. People who don’t know much about Google will get a good overview. People who are really interested in Google or the search industry will get a better understanding of how Google thinks. And even if you’re an expert, you’ll probably learn a few new tidbits. For example, Levy reveals the identity of GoogleGuy, the Google representative who answered questions from webmasters as early as 2001. You’ll also hear about inside-Google allusions like Audrey Fino or Emerald Sea.

Given that Levy isn’t a computer scientist or a Googler, I wasn’t sure how deftly he would internalize or explain how Google looks at the world, but for the most part he nails it. The book, like many accounts of Google, emphasizes the company’s focus on making decisions based on data and logic. At some points I felt that Levy pushed this point too hard. On the other hand, I recently had a conversation with a Google colleague about Lady Gaga, and the word “scalability” cropped up a lot more than you would expect for a conversation about a pop star. :) I don’t think Google is full of purely left-brained eggheads, but I’m willing to concede that compared to the average population, we probably skew further in that direction than most places.

Reading the book, I realized how much you could write about the different facets of Google. Even in 400+ pages, some topics get short shrift; it felt like Levy covered Google News in a single, condensed paragraph. But Levy gives complete and clear explanations for the parts of Google that receive his focus.

Here’s a simple litmus test: if you’ve read more than 2-3 of my blog posts in the past or follow me on Twitter, you’ll probably enjoy reading In The Plex.

Google Update- Panda Hits Again?

There is a WebmasterWorld thread with reports from some webmasters that they are seeing massive changes to the Google search results.

Typically posts like this mean that some are seeing test or early results on one of the many Google data centers. Sometimes that means that it is an early sign of a Google update.

Some are wondering if it means that this is the much anticipated update to the Farmer / Panda update that has plagued so many webmasters in the past month or so. The thing is, I do not see any updates from those impacted, in those original threads, discussing being released, so maybe this is just hot air? I am not sure but time will tell.

Here are some quotes from the thread:

I noticed today a big change in the sites listed for keywords (some are junk sites) and my organic clicks from google has dropped about 80-90%. I am no longer appearing from many terms. It appears that this hit sometime today.

A site of mine took a huge hit yesterday (April 6) too. It had the #3 position for [best widget] at the beginning of the day. Sometime before the day was over, traffic fell off a cliff, and I discovered that that the site dropped to page 13 for [best widget].

I have noticed very recently last few days sites that have been in top three for money terms for a few years getting pushed way down.

They said they are going to be "fine tuning" Panda so this could be what I am seeing, this could be your issue as well.

Like I said, I haven't seen mass reports of sites being released but now I am seeing mass reports of webmasters complaining that their sites were hit hard by Google a day or so ago.

Is this an Farmer/Panda update? If so, I don't think this is what most webmasters expected.

Why Content is Still King in Internet Marketing: Seo Services India

It was a year ago that I attended my first search engine strategies conference. It was also at this conference that I became a speaker.

Search Engine Strategies and PubCon are undoubtedly the two largest SEO/SEM conferences out there today so of course there’s huge attendance and lots of big industry names attending.

There’s also a guy there who you may have heard of. His name is Barry Schwartz and he’s from Search Engine Round Table. I bring his name up because he’s found one of the best ways to not only build an ever expanding content base up, but also a way to build quality relevant links. And it’s so simple one begins to wonder why others don’t do it.

Before I get into what he’s doing let me give you a little history. He started covering SES a few shows ago and would post summaries of the various seminars he attended at the SearchEngineWatch forum.

His posts were some of the most read posts during the conference. He soon also began posting longer summaries at his own site. Also very well read by those of us who couldn’t attend the show.

Now he’s become “the” reporter for the SES shows wherever they are. He even went into this one with a plan to cover as many of the sessions as possible, between himself and others known in the SEM industry. Some of the posts end up at the SEW forums but he also posts many on his own site.

Step one – there’s that ongoing content development.

You see, what the folks at SEO roundtable are doing is creating very long, but very detailed summaries of every seminar they attend. They then post these to their website daily or more often. Each post occupies it’s own static page, and most pages are well linked within the site.

Step two – relevant quality links and lots of them

Now here’s the great part. It is because of this coverage that people have come to realize that this site is the site to go to for SES coverage. Between this site and the SEW forums you can pretty much get your fill of SES in a very compact version. (Trust me for some of the sessions, a light summary is much better than sitting through 90 minutes of dry explanations of how ranking algorithms work :) ).

And because people rely on these summaries of the show that they begin to refer others to them. Either through word of mouth or, more importantly, links.

This is where the relevant quality links kick in. What is a link to an SEM site from another SEM site worth? What would you pay to have your competitors link to you with lots of one way links, many from high authority sites? Because of this article, they even have a link from here.

Plus they get links from Searchenginewatch, in both the forums and the blog entries, not to mention other high profile industry sites. What’s link from Matt Cutt’s blog with a photo worth to this site?

You see, this site is building its online reputation the way everyone needs to – by posting relevant timely information that others want to see. Then the others link to that content in a natural way.

Let me put it to you another way – of the over 3,000 links this site has, how many do you suppose are from content? More specifically, how many are due to the site’s summaries of the various SES shows they’ve attended? Links may not be directly to the topics in question. In fact many are not.

In fact, if you scan through the top 100 links or so listed in Google you see a virtual who’s who of the SEO industry. Let me point out a few of the more notable links: Links from Yahoo Search Blog, as well as the MSDN MSN search blog. Of course there’s many from Searchenginewatch, but also from other industry sites like searchviews.com, seomoz.com and searchenginejournal.com just to name a few.

So what has the site accomplished by attending all the SES shows since late 2003? Well, they’ve built lots of good content which helps relay their authority status to engines like Google.

Further, they’ve gotten lots of quality inbound links from high profile related sites that are also considered authorities. Plus they’ve also built a reputation for being the place to go to find out about SES which means increased traffic to the site. Not to mention that they’ve now probably got a well known brand.

In other words, if someone doesn’t already know how to find the site, but they know the name of it, a the person will search on an engine like Google looking for the domain name. Even if it’s ranked #7 or 8 for the    search term the site will get the click because the searcher is looking for that brand.

Headings Must Be Search Engine Optimized. The headings of your website impact your website search engine optimization. It is important that they read in a precise way in order for you to "score points" with the search engines and rank higher in search results. There are at least three levels of headings (h1, h2 and h3). If you're keywords aren't here, your page won't be optimized.

We try to maintain a balance by writing headings that are search engine optimized, and compelling for the reader. A headline sets up the structure of the page and entices people to read further. We try to do both wherever possible.

Your Page Layout Must Be Search Engine Optimized. Everything about your website must be optimized for search or you may loose valuable opportunities to gain new customers. Our websites have generally the same layout because our research has shown the layout to be most effective for SEO. While there are probably many better ways to layout your website, we prefer the way that the search engines prefer in effort to attract website traffic.

Your Navigation Will Make or Break Your Search Rankings. The navigation on your website is integral to your website for a variety of reasons. First, it contains links that help the search engine spiders get to where they need to go on your site. Second, it contains keywords that help your website get indexed for search queries.

We strive to create intuitive and easy to use navigation systems that are search engine optimized. Much thought goes into the creation of your navigation. Though it may see strange, your navigation is built for search engines and people. Whenever possible, we will add keywords and key phrases to each and every link of your navigation. Here's some bizarre things you may encounter on your SEO navigation:

Repetition Keywords: It's important to put keywords everywhere, including the navigation system. Not only do the keywords score points for being there, but the link itself scores double points for linking to the page it's linking to.

Re-Phrasing of Terminology: Sometimes we will need to breakdown the way you phrase something in order to make it match with what people are searching for in the search engines. If our research shows that people are not searching for a given term, we will change it to suit the search queries of the customers you want to win.
Localization is A Sticky Situation. Many of The Marketing Shop website clients are those seeking web marketing in a local vicinity. We do our best to bring you customers only from the area you request. However, there are times when our keyword research concludes that people are just not searching for your local area and we have to optimize more broadly. If this is the case, rest assured that targeting the broader area will still render results in your local area due to our expertise in local web marketing.

Each Page is Only Optimized for One or Two Phrases. The most successful web pages for search engines are optimized for only one or two keyword phrases. That means the title is about one thing and the page contains the same keywords sprinkled throughout with plenty of links reflecting the same keywords too.

Images are Invisible to Search Engines. If you were expecting a website to be a lead-generator that has more visual appeal and aesthetic stimulation, please reconsider. Images are invisible to search engines. Studies also show that people want information when they come on the web as opposed to a colorful "website brochure."

Content is King. Content is king for a variety of reasons including for search engine optimization, for website conversion enhancement and for inclusion into Google.

Search Engines: Search engines can read only text. It makes sense to keep fresh, relevant content on your site for search engine crawlers.

Website Conversion Enhancement: People are on the web to get information, not to read brochures. The more information you provide for them, the "stickier" your website becomes and the more people will bookmark your site and rely on it for pertinent information. (See article on web content.)

Also, people who get free and valuable information from your website are more likely to rely and depend upon you when they're ready to purchase goods and services. It's a "give before you get" mentality that really works. Offer information and your website visitors will reward you with loyalty.

Another way good web content affects your website's conversion capabilities is by showing your clients how you operate. Your web content is very telling as to the goods and services you provide. If you skimp on your content and your competitor does not, your competitor will win the business. Your prospects may wonder why you're not offering adequate information. Do you not know what you're doing? Do you have something to hide? Will you skimp later? It's best to just ante up the info immediately.

Google has strict requirements for it's top search result contenders, including inclusion in the DMOZ. The DMOZ is a human edited directory that requires unique and informative content as a barrier to entry. We're in the Information Age, time to step it up and provide useful information.

The World is Changing and Your Customer is Well Informed. Why bother creating websites that are valuable to our website visitors? Because your customer is different today than ever before. Information is readily available to everyone. The person who gives out information most efficiently is the one people will rely on to do business with in the future. Customers are well informed, savvy and able to get information at the click of a mouse. We need to step out of the box and cater to the new consumer.

SEO Sites Can be Tacky. There are websites out there that try to capitalize on knowledge of search engine optimization by adding keywords flagrantly and abusing the system. The Marketing Shop will never do that as we rely only on ethical search engine optimization techniques. We care more about people than we do about search engine rankings. The only time we'll put machines over people is when it's very important to the overall SEO success of your website. Other times, we try to appeal human visitors most of all.

Conclusion
Before you get started, make sure you understand what it takes to get to the top of the search engines. Good foundational knowledge in SEO will help your site be more successful, and save your web designer and SEO professional a ton of headaches in trying to get you to understand what's what. Please understand that The Marketing Shop will do nothing to your website without having a good reason for doing so. Please ask questions before you get frustrated.

Getting Top Positions About More Hits? Thanks to Google Alert!

How many of you think this way? Let me repeat my question, is getting top positions about more hits to your website? I guess all will answer in YES, but the truth is a bitter reality, thanks to “Google alert”.

Getting King’s place doesn’t mean more Money!
In the same manner getting top positions doesn’t mean more hits to your website, when a website comes at top place in search engine, what it shows? It has three things to show, page title, description and website address. Site title and description help searchers to motivate (to visit) or reluctant (to leave).

Hard to justify with different Industries every time
It takes years to understand one business properly, how can one expect from SEOs should understand all industries? YES, SEOs understand their JOB very well, most SEOs understand the common sense of business.

To Understand clients’ industry/business and its term is just like giving them the best outcomes, it will not only help to communicate with Clients but this way SEOs can help them in correct direction.

Why to Thanks Google Alert!
Google Alert is a very effective utility of Google, it tells us about which websites are hits with search keyword phrase/s, it really helped me knowing the fact that not all top ranked website/s are hits, it’s about the best description tag that turns searchers to click on that website/s, it doesn’t matter where website/s ranked, you can experience it by yourself, www.google.com/alert is a free service, create your alerts and whenever you get alerts, try to search with those mentioned keyword phrases and see the position of the hit website/s.

How important is Description Tag?
Description tag can turn searchers to be visitors, so you can guess how important description tag is! Bringing websites to top positions require a lot of things including healthy content, good link popularity, easy navigation, logical site structure, clean html and relevant title/description tags.
SEO efforts are not just to bring websites to top, bringing website to Top is just one of the elements of SEO efforts. A SEO involvement is the 2nd heaviest involvement than website owner.

Understanding Clients Business…
1. Understand clients target audience and market
2. Select the best keyword phrases according to product/services, keeping target audience in mind
3. Focus on the most relevant keyword phrases
4. Recheck all keywords by “Reverse Engineering Process” , either the selected keyword phrases give the exact traffic your clients require or not
5. Write “Title”, title belongs to keywords, try to include relevant keyword phrase within the limit of 60 to 70 Characters
6. Write “Description Tag” , description tag is very important bringing traffic and converting visitors into customers, it belongs to products and services, write is according to products and services, it has to be central idea of the page and site

Motivate SE Searchers!
Searchers are never the less important than Visitors, it’s easy to motivate visitors than searchers, a visitor visit a page but a searcher view collectively not more than four lines of title, description and website address.

Do you know?
Who your searchers are…
What they must be looking for…
What description your website is showing off after search…
On Which page your searchers are directed…

If you still miss some answers of above mentioned questions, you should be able to find out all, after knowing all answers, you can easily motivate your searchers to hit your website.

How to Get Non-Stop Free Traffic to Your Website: Seo Services India

Getting traffic remains a major headache and hurdle for many web sites. Yet the simple truth is that without traffic a website cannot be successful. Lack of traffic really need not be a problem because there are various free, proven ways of generating traffic that will cost you nothing but get you lots of traffic without you having to spend anything.

Search engines are a major source of traffic and yet effective search engine optimization does not need to cost you a penny. The key here is the content in your site. Well-written killer content will go a long way in getting you the desired attention from search engines. Focus on ensuring that your keywords are generously littered all over your copy. In your title, meta tags, headers, as well as the top and bottom portion of your website. Then ensure that you are constantly adding fresh content to your site. This will definitely get you the desired attention and resultant traffic from leading search engines.

Then you can then guarantee repeat traffic by publishing an online or email newsletter. Write interesting articles or supply valuable tips to your list and they will keep on coming back to your site and also talking to others about it.

Discussion forums are still highly effective traffic generation tools. Carefully select the ones that match your website target market most closely and then visit them regularly to share your expertise and knowledge. Include your resource box with your website link right below your post. You will be surprised at the volume of traffic that this simple action can generate for your site.

Writing and posting articles to other websites, your blog, article directories and announcement groups, is a very effective way of creating permanent regular traffic to your website. Things will get very interesting for you when the viral effect takes over and your articles get re-posted in hundreds and then thousands of other sites all over the web. And with your link still intact in the resource box.

Using these methods you can generate a sizeable volume of traffic to your website and ultimately succeed in a major way in your online enterprise.

Adding City Names At The End Of Your Keywords Can Bring More Profits: SEO SERVICES INDIA

In recent times, I have been closely studying keywords that have famous city names at the end of them and what I have discovered is nothing short of amazing. My research started off with pay-per-click ads. With Google Adsense the same keyword with only a city inserted at the end can attract substantially higher paying adsense ads to your site. That really surprised me and I went further and researched the kind of traffic the same keywords get for different well know American cities. Again I was in for a shock. Some cities have very high traffic for a certain keyword when you compare them to others for the same keyword.

What all this means is that you can target certain high traffic niches by simply adding the names of cities to the end of your keywords( Seo Services). On your site you can go further and do a little research about a certain keyword subject in the city or cities that you are targeting and have a page for that city. The effect is that your site will end up being ranked very high in certain cities. This should automatically drive more traffic to your site. In fact you will be able to reach traffic that you would not have otherwise been able to reach.

The really amazing and attractive thing about this strategy is the fact that you only need to make very minor adjustments in your existing content, maybe even only create city pages with exactly the same content adjusted. Whats more, with some subjects you only need to plant the name of the city in the article a few times and you will have started targeting popular searches that include the names of popular cities.

It really is amazing that such a simple thing as inserting the name of famous American cities can make such a huge difference in the traffic and earnings of a website or blog.

10 Facts For Promoting Your Website With Article Writing: Seo Services India

Most all ezine publishers need fresh content. Article writing is something that gets tedious to the publisher who sends out an ezine every week. Fresh, unique ideas are always attractive, and ezine authors don't mind publishing others work, (along with a complete research box, (THIS IS YOUR AD) as well.

If you can learn and excel with this kind of content writing, you can win in two areas. Promoting your own site, or writing content for others site owners and earning dollars as a ghostwriter.

I have been writing and promoting on the web for over 3 years. Here are the tips I find most important to a beginning --article for promoting-- writer.

Articles should be short enough to read in less than 5 minutes.
Ideally they should be between 300 and 600 words (an average page in a printed novel is about 300 words).

Top 10, or 7, (the number isn't that important) Tips on (your subject) are great attention grabbers for articles to promote your website.
Write in short paragraphs, forget what you learned about in English class, if a paragraph is long, find a good point where you can cut it and put an extra line break.

Browsing for content, readers are more likely to stick with reading something the eye can easily skim from top to end.

If your article is long, break it into 2 or 3 parts. For a real web traffic puller, and list building technique, request them to sign up for an autoresponder version to receive 2nd or 3rd part. (be sure to give them opt-out options when you do it this way)

Here is a mistake I see many online authors' making. Don't use huge big vocabulary. You are not writing a thesis, or essay for school. Write so that someone with a 8th grade education could easily read it. Don't try to impress with large vocabulary words, you will lose readers, who feel your writing is condesending to them. (See, how many do you think I may have lost using condesending?)

Try to write with passion. Put feeling into your words. Pull in as many of the five senses, experience stories, as you can.

Articles should educate, entertain or inform. Imagine how popular your article will be if it does all three.

Make sure your article is well formatted. You can post it at a site like ezinearticles.com and use their ("get this article page" to get your article in different formats, both text and html.) These sites also allow you to input your own personalized summary, and keywords, which allows webmasters to find them and use them as well.

Set a goal to publish a certain number of articles per week to a certain number of database sites.

It is easy to find sites to submit your articles too. Just go to google, type in articles, then, scroll to the bottom of the page. You will find a button which says, search within results.

With this search button type in "free articles" or "free content" or "free to republish" and you will find several submission sites. You can also type "article submission directories"

I have set a goal to do five things each day toward promotion. Each persons goals will be different, but remember, to be effective you must write new content and promote on a consistent basis.

However, if you have a good article, it will also duplicate itself quickly and spread across the web like a forest fire out of control!

You can optimize your article to get the exact keyword density for search engines, but that could fill another whole article. For your main keyword, try to use it about 7-10 times throughout the whole page. This article's goal is to find article writer-promoter, webmasters to list their articles at my new article database.

Google Page Rank: What Do You Know About It

PageRank (PR) is Googles way of measuring the quality and relative â€Å“importance” of your website to searchers. Its purpose is to give web surfers an idea of the importance of a website.

PageRank is measured on a scale of 0 to 10. Your PageRank depends on the amount of web pages that link to yours, and the PRs of each of those pages.

It can take up to three months for a new website to be assigned a PageRank – depending on when Google decides to do the Google Update, where all websites PRs are reviewed.

A thousand links from pages with low PageRanks can eventually achieve as high a PR as that from a few web pages with high PRs. Some website owners research the value of a potential link partners PR before deciding whether or not to link with them.

Its true that a web page with a high PageRank can pass on a high PR to you, but this can be offset if the page has too many links on it, because the PR is distributed proportionally to all the web pages it links to.

A page with a low PR may be worth linking to.

The website may be very new and you will have to wait for the Google Update before the value of linking with that website can be determined.

Never link with a website merely because they have a high PR – consider the content of the website and its relevance to your target market as well.

Misconceptions Addressed:

A High PageRank does not mean you will rank at the top of Google results pages; it merely means that your website is well established on the Internet and if it is listed in the Google Directory, www.directory.google.com, it will be listed above similar websites with a lower PageRank.

It is debateable, but the only true benefits of a high PageRank is that visitors that come across your site and see on the Google Toolbar that you have a high rank may perceive you as a more professional business and that you are more likely to receive more hits from the google directory.

How to Maximize Your Backlinks

One of the most important aspects of SEO which extends itself to both on-page and off-page optimization is backlinking. Backlinks can make or break you site, it is important to keep this in mind as you develop and promote your site.

Internal linking
When linking between pages in your site, it is important to use text within the link that has a descriptive phrase to the page it is point. This phrase should be targeted by content on the page you are point to.

Try to use text links apposed to image links where possible. If you must use images or flash, it is important to have alternate navigation in text format.

External linking
Very important is the relevancy of the content that is linking to your site. If you are running a health and wellness site, it will not be as beneficial to have a link on a casino site. Find linking partner that have same content areas and similar demographic interests as your site.

Target your keywords in your links! Using keywords and phrases in external links will help push you in the search engines results.

Be careful of sites that are loaded with links. You have to remember that you are sharing the PR with all the other links on the site. It is best to get a site with limited links as the PR will transfer better as well as users actually seeing your links.

Conclusion
Linking strategies need to be thought out, it is best to gain linking partners that will last and have relevant content. The way your site is referenced over the web can make or break you positioning in the search engines.

The Five Ways You Should Be Using Keywords: Seo Services India

We have all read lots of articles on how to gather keywords, how to compile a huge keyword list, how to make these keywords relevant to our web site. But exactly what do we do with all these keywords once we have them?

Knowing where and how you can use your keywords will greatly improve the efficiency of your search engine optimization.

There are 5 places in a web page where you can use keywords:

The Title Tag
The Keyword Meta Tag
The Description Meta Tag
Alt Tags for images
Body copy on the page

Of these the page Body Copy, the readable text on the page, is the single most important place for your keywords. More about this later.

Let’s first take a look at the Title Tag. This is one of the tags in the head section of the html code of your web page and lists the title that is displayed in the web browser. For instance, Internet Explorer displays this tag in the top bar of the browser window. But there are other uses for the Title Tag as well. Most search engines will index this tag for information about your site and many search engines will use this tag as the title of your listing.

In general you can use from 60 to 115 characters in a Title Tag. The Tag can include the company name, especially if it is a well known company, and should include your most important keywords. Consider this a short description of your web page. One more thing, the Title Tag is also used as the link when the URL is saved into a web browser favorites list.

The Keyword Meta Tag used to be the main way search engines indexed your page. Now-a-days many search engines will simply ignore this tag, but that may not always stay the case. Some search engines still take s look at this tag to help categorize your site. There is no reason not to have this tag on your page, just in case. You are not penalized for including a Keyword Meta Tag.

The keywords should be separated by a comma. Put more specific keywords first then put the less important and general keywords later on. Search engines no longer pay attention to the case of a keyword, so the keywords can all be lower case. I have seen recommendations of 25 keywords or 1000 characters in the list. In general Keyword pairs or triplets are better than single keywords. I try to have one or two lines of keywords if I use this tag.

The Description Meta Tag is slowly joining the Keywords Meta Tag on the lack of support list. But right now it is still a valuable place to use your keywords. Many search engines will look at the description Meta tag for keywords to compare against your body copy. Yahoo goes one step further and will use your description tag as the description of your site in their listings.

Consider the description tag just like it is named, a concise description of your site. Keep it to a short paragraph, under 50 words.

Alt tags are text descriptions that are included with the code used to display images on a page. Basically an Alt tag is the Alternate Text version of the image in case the image is not displayed. Alt tags are important for creating a fully accessible site for people who use screen reader technology that reads the page out loud through their computer speakers. Obviously an image cannot be read aloud, but the Alt tag can.

Alt tags are also displayed as a quick popup when you “hover” your mouse pointer over an image. Many search engines, including Google, will index the Alt tags along with the rest of the body copy, making these ideal places to slip in a few more keywords. Just keep in mind that the text should accurately reflect the content of the image. Plus don’t use Alt tags on images that would not normally be read out loud, such as separator lines or bullets.

This brings us to the main place to use your keywords, the body copy on the page, the text that your visitors are reading when they visit your site. The major search engines will no longer give you a top placement just for having the most instances of a particular keyword on your page. They will give top listing to what they believe is the most relevant page on a topic.

Your job is to work your keyword into the text frequently, but appropriately. Select one or two keywords and make the page specifically about those keywords. Think of yourself giving a PowerPoint presentation to an audience of your best customers. Your PowerPoint slides will be your paragraphs. They should be concise and to the point, using your keywords to drive home your point. And, just like in a PowerPoint presentation, you can use bulleted lists to call out the several benefits of your site or product, each time relating it to your selected keyword.

So use your keywords appropriately on your site and use them where you can. This will greatly increase your search engine effectiveness.

Wiki - What SEOs can learn from wiki: Seo Services India

I’ve been actively researching ways to quickly and effectively build content to websites. And while blogs tend to be near the top of the list, there are other opportunities out there.

One such opportunity is a Wiki. And while a Wiki won’t suit all sites, there are those that can use a Wiki effectively. If you think you are one of those sites, take a look at this article.

What is a Wiki?

Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit web page content using any Web browser. Wiki supports hyperlinks and has a simple text syntax for creating new pages and links between internal pages on the fly.

Wiki is unusual among group communication mechanisms in that it allows the organization of contributions to be edited in addition to the content itself.

Like many simple concepts, “open editing” has some profound and subtle effects on Wiki usage. Allowing everyday users to create and edit any page in a Web site is exciting in that it encourages democratic use of the Web and promotes content composition by nontechnical users.

A History of Wiki

The first ever Wiki site was created for the Portland Pattern Repository in 1995. That site now hosts tens of thousands of pages. Since then they have grown to become one of the most popular community and web based applications available.

One of the most well known and popular Wiki projects is the Wikipedia.

Why Use a Wiki?

Wikis are growing at a phenomenal pace. This is because, at their core, they are about as simple as can be. That simplicity means that people find them easy to use, just like e-mail and blogs and like e-mail and blogs, Wikis also perform a very useful service in a simple way. A Wiki allows a group of people to enter and communally add or edit entries. These entries can be viewed and edited by anyone who visits the Wiki.

What this means is that, when you come to a Wiki, you are able to read what the Wiki’s community has written. By clicking an “edit” button on an article, you are able to edit the article’s text. You can add or change anything you like in the article you are reading.

This simplicity and the utter openness of a Wiki cause many people to instantly reject the idea. They assume that because anyone can edit a Wiki at any time, the Wiki must be flawed. But Wiki supporters claim this is an incorrect assumption.

This is because users involved in Wikis tend to be self policing. They check and re-check facts entered by themselves and others. Much like bloggers who can spot a spam blog quickly, Wiki users also know when a Wiki looks fraudulent.

Also, while not many Wiki employ it, there is the ability to have editorial control over the Wiki. That means that the Wiki owner can hold approval rights to all entries. Plus many Wikis require a simple registration before allowing entry or editing of articles.

SEM Benefits of Wiki

The biggest benefit of a Wiki likes in its use of heavy interlinking between pages. As a Wiki grows to become a resource it refers to itself more and more often through these links. For example, look at this wikipedia page about Wikis:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki

One would think that such heavy interlinking would cause the search engine to review the site more closely, potentially marking the site as spam. However, provided the site is useful, and because of the fact that it is a Wiki, search engines tend to let this type of heavy interlinking pass their usually rigorous spam tests.

Most Obvious Ways to Promote Your Web site: SEO Services India

It is interesting to think that out of the numerous ways in which business owners can advertise their products and services, many of them neglect to place their company’s URL in the very advertising they are already paying for.
Sometimes simply placing their Web site URL in their paid advertising is not that obvious. Here are 10 not-always-so-obvious ways to promote your Web site.

1. Include your URL on business cards, stationery, brochures and other literature.
As silly as it may seem, this no-brainer is often overlooked. You’d be amazed how many business owners either forget to place their URL on their business cards or don’t think doing so is all that important. Be sure when printing your company’s promotional and marketing materials, to leave off the http:// part and include only the www.domain.com portion.

2. Don’t neglect e-mail and e-mail newsletters as a way to bring visitors to your Web site.
Utilize the signature file option (company name, address, phone number, URL, e-mail address) in your e-mail program. Many business owners sign their e-mails with just their first name, nothing more. Moreover, many business owners still send and receive business-related e-mails using a free e-mail account or their ISP’s email, like Hotmail, Yahoo, or Ameritech, rather than using their corporate e-mail account – another free Web site promotion tool.
While it's a big commitment in time, publishing a weekly, monthly, or quarterly newsletter is one of the very best ways to keep in touch with your prospects, generate trust, develop brand awareness, and build future business. Don’t forget to place your URL in each newsletter you send out.

3. Take a moment to use your traditional means of advertising to add your URL.
Be sure to include your URL in any display or classified ads you purchase in trade journals, newspapers, magazines and more. View your Web site as an information adjunct to the ad – to capture the readers' attention with the ad, and then refer them to a URL where they can obtain more information and perhaps place an order. Look carefully at small display or classified ads in the back of magazines or trade periodicals. Sometimes these ads are more targeted, more effective, and less expensive than online advertising. Consider other traditional media to drive people to your site, such as direct mail, classifieds, post cards, etc.

4. Become an online expert in your field.
Use your expertise to become an expert in your field and promote your Web site for free. Sign up for Yahoo Answers (http://answers.yahoo.com/) or Google Answers (http://answers.google.com/answers/) and answer questions asked by online visitors. You will have the opportunity to write your company’s URL in your profile. This is a great way to gain additional Internet exposure as well.

5. Issue press releases.
When your business has a newsworthy event, send press releases to print and online periodicals. Use these opportunities to mention your company’s URL near the bottom of each news release. There are many online PR Web sites, including PRWeb.com, PRWire.com and others you may use to promote something exciting happening within your company.

6. Promote your site in mailing lists and news groups.
The Internet offers hundreds of targeted e-mail based discussion lists, chat rooms and news groups made up of people with very specialized interests. Spend at least one hour each week searching for groups where a conversation is taking place. Do not use aggressive marketing and overly plug your company, even if you see some people doing so. Instead, add to the discussion in a helpful way and let the signature at the end of your e-mail or post message do the marketing for you. People will gradually get to know and trust you, visit your Web site, and do business with you.

7. Ask visitors to bookmark your site.
It seems so simple, but make sure you ask visitors to bookmark your Web site. Use a text link or graphic on the homepage of your Web site.

8. Place URL in any yellow book advertising you already do.
I once knew of a company who was spending $95,000 in yellow page advertising, across numerous books in the area, and included front yellow book cover ads as well as full-page, full-color ads throughout the yellow pages. Not once did they mention their Web site, which has been on the Net for many years. The company surprisingly saw no value to it.

Whether placing full-page ads in your local yellow pages, or only paying for a bold listing in the white and business yellow pages of your local directory, consider leaving open one line for your company’s Web site address. Because you are already paying for the directory advertising, this is one particular place you definitely do not want to overlook.

9. Write articles for use in newsletters and other Web sites.
You can dramatically increase your Internet visibility when you write expert articles about your field and distribute them as free content for other article directories, e-mail newsletters and other related Web sites. At the bottom of each article written, request a link back to your Web site and a one-line description of what you offer. This is an effective viral marketing approach.

10. Devise other viral marketing techniques.
Viral marketing uses the communication networks of your site visitors and current customers to spread the word about your Web site exponentially. Some examples include word-of-mouth, public relations, referrals, blogs, creating "buzz," and other forms of network marketing.

How to Make Money Offering Pay-Per-Click Management Services: SEO Services India

How to make money offering Pay-Per-Click management services.

Pay-Per-Click management services can expand your revenue stream from existing clients.

The inclusion of PPC services to the usual list of services that my web agency offers (design, programming, content, updates …) came about as a direct response to demand from one of my existing clients. In fact from my biggest and best client. This client asked me to look into PPC and come back with a proposal for them. Several days of research later and I wrote up my proposal and it was accepted! In that moment I did not realise that I had just started the most profitable of all the services that I now provide. I enjoy it so much that I have stopped offering websites to new clients, rather I am going back over my client list and offering them general internet marketing services.

There exists the basic problem of how to make money from offering PPC services to your clients because at the end of the day you are selling a management service, rather than the usual web design/programming services.

After trying many different variations I have come to a simple, clear and always profitable manner of charging my clients for PPC services. It is remarkable obvious but I made several costly mistakes (one of which resulted in the loss of a good client) to arrive at the following system:

• Keyword research: hourly rate

• Client account set-up fee: hourly rate

• Campaign set-up fee: hourly rate

• Ad group set-up fee: hourly rate

• Campaign and ad group maintenance: hourly rate

• Cost Per Click: fixed percentage fee

That seems like a lot of hour rates but the reality is that apart from keyword research all can be done in less than an hour for the grand majority of clients. Basic keyword research is available rapidly using the Overture keyword tool. Adwords also have a good tool once you have opened an account it is part of the automated campaign creation process.

Pay-Per-Click management fees - structure them well and make money.

As all you professional web designers are painfully aware, our clients often expect additional work done that is beyond the initial signed brief. If you have not established a clear hourly rate for additional hours of work it is a tough uphill battle to do so. And trust me that the client will ask for additional work to be done on there PPC campaign once its up and running. Why? Well because it will be a success, and the results can be presented in a language that they can understand. ´´You got x number of visitors to your web site that were actively looking for widgets.´´ That is a powerful message to give to a client. These types of statements captures there attention.

If your client is happy with what they see in the initial data from the PPC campaign they will increase funding and that is when the fixed percentage fee of the total cost of visitors bought will become a wonderful monthly income with little work needed from your part.
